May 14, 1948 witnessed David Ben Gurion make the announcement that after centuries of being scattered to the four corners of the earth, the Jews were coming back. The Land that G-d had given to Abraham and his descendants would once again see his people, ravaged by persecution, pogrom and Holocaust, worship G-d in the Promised Land. All who had been away in foreign nations were welcomed back. As Christians we have a reason to celebrate this day, it is our home as well.
